 Hollywood actor Martin Sheen has released a video clip, where he calls on viewers to appeal for the release of human rights defender Azimzhan Askarov, who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a policeman during the June events in southern Kyrgyzstan. Press secretary of the Supreme Court said that "only the court" may decide the fate of Askarov. |

17 March 2011.In Prague in the Lucerna theater took place closing ceremony of 13 festival of documentary films on human rights «One World», conducted by the Czech Organization «People in Need». Festival «One World», held under the auspices of former Czech President V. Havel, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Culture of Czech Republic, as well as the mayor of Prague, «One World», is the biggest Human rights festival in the world. |

In Prague in the Church " St. Anna" held an opening ceremony of the annual festival of documentary films on human rights «One World», conducted by the Czech organization «One World» and «People in Need».At the opening of the festival, with a welcome address by the head of «One World» Hana Kulhankova, who reported that in 2011, within 10 days of the festival in 4 demonstration centers will screen 104 films from 40 countries worldwide. |

 The Homo Homini Award will be accepted by representatives of the Kyrgyz political prisoner, Azimjan Askarov at the opening ceremony of the Festival.People in Need presents the Homo Homini Award annually to exceptional individuals who have made a significant contribution to promotion of human rights and democracy. The 2010 award goes out to the Kyrgyz activist, Azimjan Askarov, for his continued work in human right defense. |
